ITALIATOUR is a joint-stock company created in February 1986. Its main objective is to offer, especially overseas, Italy as a destination with the best combination of quality and price.
The Company is based in Rome, located in the Alitalia Head Office.
Already the holder of the Alitalia trade mark Intermezzo, in December 1993 Italiatour acquired Offshore, a tour operator involved in the outgoing activity, which has become the trade mark for the outgoing traffic from Italy.

Italiatour operates in both incoming and outgoing tourism offering inclusive packages, hotel accommodation, air and surface transportation, plus complementary travel services, sales, promotion and advertising.

In May 2003, 80% of the stock capital of Italiatour is acquired by CIT, Compagnia Italiana Turismo, while the remaining 20% still belongs to Alitalia.

The CIT GROUP is one of the leading groups in the tourism business.
It operates through 33 companies. The Group manages over 130 travel agencies and 20 strategic inplants in Italian public institutions and corporate bodies. An essential part of the productive structure of the CIT Group is represented by the 17 tour operators in Italy and worldwide that, in 2002, have produced over one million passengers

ITALIATOUR operates worldwide through a distribution network of six branch offices (New York, London and Dublin, Paris, Madrid, Munich and Amsterdam) and over 20 overseas commercial partners.
In other key markets such as Japan, South America, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, India, Australia, etc., ITALIATOUR operates through the cooperation with the most important local Tour Operators.

Italiatour has become a market leader mainly specialized in Art Cities (Rome, Florence, Venice and the lesser known art cities of the so-called Undiscovered Italy), agritourism and country houses in Tuscany, Umbria and Apulia; seaside resorts in Campania, Sicily, Liguria and Calabria; the Northern Italy Lake District resorts.

ITALIATOUR, through its Customer Service Desk and Lounge located at Rome Fiumicino airport offers an exclusive service of assistance to its clients upon their arrival in our country. The Customer Service Desk and Lounge is open daily from 07 am to 10.00 pm. The elegant Lounge as well as a multilingual professional staff allow clients to enjoy maximum comfort upon their arrival.
